Baptism Requirements

If the child is younger than 6 years old
  1. Choosing a Godparent

         Under Canon Law CH IV.

 Godparents can be individuals who have been married in the church and not divorced. 

  • A godparent can also be single, not living with another person without the benefit of the sacrament of marriage in the Church. Single and/or married godparents should be actively practicing their faith, weekly Mass goers, and have received the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. (Can. 874 §1. 1-5)
  • Godparents are required  to submit their Baptismal, First Communion, and Confirmation certificates. Married godparents are required to submit their marriage certificate.

 

  • It is traditional for the parents and/or godparents to bring the following for the baptism (not required) :
  • Baptismal Candle
  • White garment or Baptismal stole



   2. Take the Pre-Baptismal classes

Classes in English have to be registered in the parish office. English Classes are every first Wednesday of the month  at 6:00pm in the Faith Formation Building, unless otherwise specified.

Children can not be present in the classes.


Spanish classes are every first Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm  in the Main church, unless otherwise specified. Due to class sizes there is no registration. Just show up!

Children can not be present in the classes.


   3. Register in the Office

List of items to bring to register:

- Birth certificate of the child

-Marriage certificate or the 3 certificates of Sacraments from the godparents

-Certificate of completion of the pre-bautismal classes (for those who took the classes in another parish)

- $100 donation


Baptisms are every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month


Private Baptism are available only on weekdays in the Little Rock Church for a donation of $300

Children over the age of 6 years old need to register for classes in the St. Carlo Acutis Faith Formation Center
